A research-based exploration on "Manifestation"

Dixon, L. J., Hornsey, M. J., & Hartley, N. (2023). “The Secret” to Success? The Psychology of Belief in Manifestation. Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, 0(0). https://doi.org/10.1177/01461672231181162

The Trouble With “Manifesting”: It may build confidence but real-world outcomes don’t change.

Highlights of the study -

  • Manifesting, as a practice, is gaining traction in the personal development industry.

  • The practice offers visions of effortless paths to untold riches via various forms of “energy” or “vibration” techniques ranging from repeating positive thoughts and wishes to symbolic acts such as writing blank checks to oneself.

  • While manifestation is associated with upbeat expectations of and strong belief in oneself, leading to heightened expectations and feelings of self-enhancement, it is not associated with improved real-world outcomes.

I beg to differ, I visited Nainital as a teenager and was completely mesmerised by the hills, air, and that calm mountain vibe and I jokingly decided I “want to live in a hill station someday.” Fast forward zillions of years, life took its own scenic route and here I am in Canada, surrounded by mountains again. So now I like to say… teenage me made a very confident manifestation request, and adulthood just handled the matter  so I believe ‘दिल से दुआ करो सब मिलता है ‘

very interesting study @VEDANT_DEV thanks for sharing,
glad to know your perspective @hc2101
this question is again as debatable as destiny and free-will, so I will not take any sides, but like I had shared in a podcast recently. I’ve got what ever I’ve always wanted but only to repent for wanting it, so now the best approach for me is to led my Lord choose what is best for me
