I was watching this show - “Neagley” on Amazon Prime.
No spoiler alert—I just want to discuss one thing that caught my attention while watching the show. There’s a storyline around a creating a drug that can rapidly release trapped trauma. One of the characters suddenly accessed a deeply buried memory, and as the emotional experience surfaced, she began to recognize what was behind her trauma and her psychological condition. It immediately made me think about my own PLRT journey and how differently I now look at emotions. Earlier, I might have simply thought, “the memory is hidden, so we need to find it.” But now I find myself wondering—what if the subconscious already knows what needs to come forward, and our role is not to force it, but to create enough safety and space for it to emerge? That really stayed with me. Perhaps the most powerful part of the process isn’t simply remembering what happened, but understanding what the emotion has been trying to communicate all along.
