Alternative to Morning Meditation

Can daily meditation be practiced while lying on the bed and listening to meditative music before sleeping, if one is unable to do it in the early morning due to a late-night schedule?

Dear Dr Gunjan,

In my humble opinion yes we may practice meditation before sleep given a late night engagement. For that matter it can be any time of the day which is conducive for one to connect with oneself.

Afterall the the Lord Of Life resides deep within us only…we just need to suit up and dive in…

Hello Dr. Gunjan,

In my view, early morning dhyanam is ideal, it gives Chitta Shuddhi which is conducive for reflecting on Atma. It boosts energy and focus for the day ahead

For relaxation and sleep preparation, practicing Yoga Nidra before bed on a flat surface, such as a yoga mat, is beneficial. Meditating on the bed might lead to sleep, so you could consider a different spot.

The purpose of meditation (dhyAnam) varies:

  • Morning: Chitta shuddhi (mental purification) sets the stage for self-reflection.
  • Daytime: This time is suitable for Manasa Pooja (mental worship).
  • Night: Yoga Nidra aids sleep.

Hope this helps :pray:

Regards
Sandhya :pray::sparkles::blush:

good question my blessed Dr. @gunjangaur0905
however hope you are able to remember a difference we had discussed during the workshop on when you need to concentrate and when to diffuse?
hope other illuminates can enlighten on this front.
but the former is what actually can take us to the inner guru*, and the later to rest the body-mind-spirit.
