History-

Childhood-

He belongs to Chennai, born brought up and educated here. From childhood he was never interested in studies. He was a below average student. Parents would persuade him and he would feel tortured. This behaviour created an emotional distance from his parents.

He scored good in college, he attributes it to his mental maturity and the distance from parents to a point where he did not hear anything they said to him.

He has 2 older sisters who are just fine, he thinks nothing great about them.

Adulthood-

He completed Engineering course, landed a good job of his liking, with good payment and career growth. Meanwhile he worked on a startup on his own which was successful. He was doing good.

His marriage was arranged and the girl refused in the last minute, and this happened 2 times, was left feeling humiliated in front of relatives.

About 12 yrs back he had an arranged marriage. Sadly, they separated within 45 days of marriage. Reason he states is an over dominant father in law. They got divorced, but the girls family was out to torture him, they took him to court targeting his property and work place too. He spent a lot of money on court case, finally gay the divorce.

He was cheated in his business too by close friends.

Presently-

He has a good job. Has restarted his business, Got the divorce and secured his property. But again they are talking of reopening the case against him. Feels sad about it.

Major issues-

  1. He has major relationship issues.
  2. Why ex wife is continuing to torture.
  3. Why no great success in business, though he works hard.

Reframing-

Dave Elman

He climbed the mountain with ease.

He had 2 boxes.

One big box behind him, eagerly filled it with all his sadness, humiliations he faced, tension he faced with his ex wife’s family, the emotional distance with parents, being cheated in business and all his past frustrations and closed the box.

In the smaller box in front of him he filled it with his future fears, unhealthy feelings with the sadness that it would bring and closed the box.

He was happy to kick the 2 boxes into the ocean below.

He was left feeling relaxed and light in body and mind.

Integration and closure-

We discussed the questions he had at the beginning of the session.

He did not exactly understand why he is undergoing these problems.

He understood he has been alone before too, as he was not able to see anyone during regression.

He was resisting to go to anyplace particularly painful. He wants to now break the cycle of being alone. He wishes to work on that.

Recommendations-

Practice relaxation and meditation regularly, as he was doing some time back.

To work on reconnecting with family and friends .

Open to think of ways to improve social interactions.

To check back in a month.

@gayatri_k1 Congratulations on submission of your 2nd case. In my understanding, reframing is to be done prior to regression. Please correct me if i am wrong/let me know if it can be done either way.

Hello Gayatri..…

Very real….. very human.

No drama, no over-interpretation, just an honest window into a man who has quietly been carrying loneliness like a second skin for years.

Allow me to begin by acknowledging you first.

You held space with patience, did not force a story, did not push him into something “spectacular” just to prove regression.

This shows your maturity as a therapist.

N the way you respected his resistance stood out to me.

Many times in PLR, especially with themes like repeated relationship failures, therapists unknowingly start chasing a past life answer. But here, you allowed pauses, discomfort

“I am not comfortable” moments and even early emergence

This is real therapy.

Also, the reframing exercise with the two boxes is beautifully done.

Simple..… symbolic..… but very powerful for a kinesthetic dominant client like him.

You met him where he could feel, not where you wanted him to see.

Solely as in my opinion this did not feel like a “past life access” issue, instead it felt like a deep subconscious protection pattern.

Notice the threads…

Emotional distance from parents

Feeling “tortured” when guided in childhood

Humiliation in relationships

(repeated rejection)

Betrayal by close people

Legal harassment - prolonged stress

And then in regression…

Empty spaces

No people visible

Dark room

Jumping out through a window

(escape response)

Strong resistance at the point of emotional depth…

is a classic

“I disconnect before I get hurt” programming.

Loneliness here is not the problem..…

It is actually the solution his mind created to survive

When he said

“I am not comfortable”,

is actually the exact doorway not necessarily to push further into past life..… but to stay there and explore…

What is uncomfortable?”

Where do you feel it in your body?”

“What does this feeling remind you of?”

Because his system is not lacking memories…..it is avoiding emotional re-experiencing.

About the “no clear past life” outcome…

Honestly… this is not a failure at all.

In fact, this is a very authentic session outcome.

Sometimes the soul doesn’t open past life doors because the current life itself holds enough unresolved charge or may be the nervous system is not ready for deeper catharsis…and trust with self is still building.

And in your session, something important happened…

He recognized his pattern of being alone. He expressed a desire to break it

This is a shift..…and is huge.

What I would gently add further…

if he returns, you can explore more of

Inner child work (especially around emotional neglect & pressure)

Safe relationship visualization (retraining his nervous system)

Body-based release (since he is kinesthetic dominant)

Less focus on “why this happened

More focus on “How can I now feel safe with people again?”

This case did not feel like a story of past lives to me…..

It felt like a man standing at the edge of connection, wanting to step forward…..

but still holding himself back.

And you did not push him.

You simply walked beside him.

N this is therapy.

Beautifully held, Gayatri. :clap::clap::clap:

Harmeet

So true what you said… K clients really do come with their own silent armor, don’t they?

On the surface they look composed, practical..… but अंदर कहीं बहुत deep emotional backlog होता है… unexpressed, untouched, almost carefully hidden even from themselves.

Honestly, this is where Gayatri really did a good job….. by not trying to break that armor forcefully. She just stayed..… gently presen and sometimes this itself is the first crack where healing begins.

I have noticed with such clients, even a small shift like

“I want to break this pattern now”

..…is actually a huge therapeutic milestone, even if the session does not give dramatic past life visuals.

@Dr Sarandha,

You’re absolutely right that reframing is commonly done before regression, especially to reduce emotional intensity, to

create safety in the subconscious and to

prepare the client to access deeper material

It acts like a soft cushioning before we open these inner doors.

But in practice, it’s not always rigid.

There are moments like in above (Gayatri’s) case where the client showed resistance, is unable/unwilling to access deeper layers

or comes out with emotional heaviness but without clear insight..…

the post-regression reframing becomes therapeutic in itself.

Almost like,

“If the mind didn’t open the past… let us at least help it release the weight it is carrying right now.”

In fact, sometimes this after-session reframing lands even more deeply because the client is already in a semi-open, suggestible, reflective state.

So personally, I’ve seen it work beautifully both ways

Before - for preparation & safety

After - for release & integration

Waiting for Gayatri to respond and our beloved Venu sir for his wisdom:folded_hands::folded_hands:

Really appreciate you raising this @dr. Sarandha..…

these are the nuances that deepen all of us together:folded_hands:

@Dr Sarandha,

A very sharp observation……
and honestly, a very important one from a therapeutic safety point of view.

Waiting for Gayatri’s response before putting my take from the above case:blush::sunflower:

Thank you all wonderful people. It has given me charming insight into the sessions.

Thank you Sarandha for pointing towards the reframing. My first 2 cases I did the reframing after the regression. Venu sir also mentioned about it.

In the 3rd case I followed the cue , it certainly had a different texture, where the client was more relaxed and spoke with ease . When the client seemed disturbed I was suggesting breathing and relaxation .

I am yet to submit the 3rd case notes.
