Mr Vivek was referred to me by my fellow PLR therapist Ms Sandhya. I would like to thank her for this amazing client.

April 13th Mr Vivek called me and explained to me how he has low self esteem issues and has been bullied most of his life, his past has brought him a lot of pain because of unstable relations and little to no friendships. He is fully focused towards moksha by becoming a monk along with his wife, living a simple life. Yet his past pains are still not letting him move forward and wanted to know if PLRT can help him in this regard. I introduced myself and gave a bit of clarity about PLRT.

We decided to meet for sessions at my home studio on 18th and 19th April 2026.

April 18th 2026: Session 1: Therapist and Therapy Introduction: 8:00 am till 9:30 am

The client travelled from the other side of the city the previous night and stayed in a hotel with mother and brother, this was necessary as the client had travel sickness (Root cause of which would be revealed in one of the past lives). Mother and Brother had come to see him off and wanted assurance about his safety. I gave them a brief introduction about myself and therapy, cleared all their doubts. The mother had been constantly checking on him by messaging me through the two days. I put her at ease by assuring that he was safe and making good progress.

Session 2 - History taking: 9:30 am to 10:30 am

The client currently resides with his wife north of Bangalore close to his in-laws and place of work. He has now taken up a job in the education institution run by his father-in-law. He was offered the Director role with high salary but he chose to avoid it as it interfered in his main goal which was attaining moksha through spiritual practices. He had a routine which involved Spiritual Sadhanas, Learning Vedas and Sanskrit online. His job involved him supporting students through counselling. His wife also took a job with a similar role in another school under the same management.

Early Childhood: His mother and father were into the corporate sector, a middle class family which had been traveling to different south Indian states. Living in cities like Chennai, Trivandrum etc. His mother is involved with many social service activities and also animal welfare.

He had a low interest in studies in childhood. Was having very low self esteem due to his looks. Teeth issues, curved back, thin structure made him avoid any company, he had few or no friends most of his life. Learning challenges were a major concern along with disruptive behaviour issues, there were times he would throw bricks from top of a building onto the road just see what happens. Schools were changed to see if behaviour improves, in 5th grade his change of school made him lose a few friends he had. He went through depressive periods and had a deprived mindset too. He was a Rebel for most of his childhood till he met a role model. A monk who was an accomplished businessman and high academic achiever and who dropped all that to come to India and live a simple life teaching spirituality.

From this point onward he improved in Academics and became more focused from age 15 onwards. He joined an engineering college and studied there too, at age 19 he met a girl, this was a time when Vivek was interested and learning about spirituality. They were in a relationship, the girl was more serious, and Vivek focused more on studies. The girl was a daughter of a very influential business man and wasn’t happy about the relationship when he found out. She wanted to enter civil service basically due to family pressure, he too started studying for civil service, he knew that studying together would not help as focus gets diverted and advised her to study on her own so they can crack the exam. But she was not too focused on studies and wanted his presence. She saw his absence in her life as rejection and was getting into depression. She saw him as a breath of fresh air from her family. Her family saw him as a threat for a long time, they would curse him constantly insulting him with every opportunity, but after they got to know he had given his civil service exam the respect grew and they were polite and encouraged him to coach their daughter for the civil service exam as well. The minute they got to know that he couldn’t clear the exam, all the insults returned. He had to step out of the relationship but she was getting depressed when he mentioned anything regarding leaving.

When Vivek tried to write the Civil service exam a chronic pain developed on his shoulder which persisted for the rest of his life, this pain became a part of everyday life since then.

Vivek wanted to travel the world and be free. He was doing some simple work, He travelled to multiple places in north india, vietnam, Uganda in africa, at age of 25 to 27 he was part of the hippie movement. After returning from his visit to Uganda he discovered that his girlfriend had an affair, and was devastated. He chose to become a monk completely and went to Rishikesh, the girl decided to become a monk and stayed in an ashram for 6 months. This had a profound effect on her had she had transformed into a Yogini. Both did get married in June 2025. The in-laws were bitter, especially father in law who was not happy how his daughter wouldn’t listen to him since she met Vivek.

He has been to multiple 10 day vipassana courses, he is also studying sanskrit and upanishads constantly. He spends at least 2 hrs for meditation and other spiritual practices everyday.

[Vivek was mentally exhausted after history taking. I could see him holding his head.]

He took some time to pray to him and receive his blessings.
