“The grace of God is always pouring in, but generally people have a hole in their minds,” Swamiji said. "How can you retain God’s grace?
Sealing the hole caused by fear, doubt, hatred, anger, jealousy, greed, desire, and attachment is an integral part of spiritual practice.
Once you make all sincere efforts and are truly exhausted, then you cry out in despair, and that spontaneous cry is the highest form of prayer. It opens the channel of devotion, leading to a state of ecstasy. This state of ecstasy is God’s grace. Grace is the fruit you receive from your faithful and sincere efforts.
"Self-realization is a matter of revelation. That comes through God’s grace. However, relying on God’s grace and abandoning self effort, especially in the early states of sadhana, is a big mistake…”
—Swami Rama’s blessed words. From the book “At the Eleventh Hour”
Adding, whenever I get distracted from Sadhna, God always pulls me back in, either via a message from a friend or a quote and I go back to the same bliss. It reminds that God only uplifts, there’s no judgement or punishment. Once you embark on a journey दिल से it becomes clear and easier all you need is to surrender
