Thank you so much Dr. Gunjan, for asking these relevant questions about proxy sessions.
Taking references from the work of Masters like Dr. Brian Weiss and Dr. Linda Backman and even in Amarantos practice, we see proxy sessions being a safe and effective channel… provided
the foundation of intention, consent and ethics is honored.
Let me share what I’ve experienced and understood over the years.
A) Since the client is not consciously revisiting their memories, the catharsis is not seen in the usual way. But Gunjan, healing is not always about tears or words; sometimes it is about unseen shifts…
In proxy work, the proxy becomes a सूक्ष्मपुल…a subtle bridge…through which the client’s subconscious expresses itself. The proxy may feel sensations, emotions, or images, but the healing impact flows to the client.
बिलकुल वैसे ही जैसे जब कोई पंडितजी किसी के लिए मंत्रोच्चार करतें है, तो उन मंत्रों की vibrations उस व्यक्ति को लाभ पहुँचाती हैं जिसके लिए संकल्प लिया गया है, न कि स्वयं पंडितजी को…In the same way, the proxy carries the intention of the client and the release happens energetically at the client’s level.
Often, later, we see that the client feels lighter, calmer or relieved…even if they never sat in the session themselves.
B) It is the power of संकल्प शक्ति…which is the clear, sacred intention we set before beginning. When we frame the session with the understanding that
“this journey is on behalf of…”
the subconscious naturally tunes itself to that frequency…
बिल्कुल वैसे ही, जैसे जब कोई भक्त सूर्य को अर्घ्य देता है वह जल सूर्य की प्यास नहीं बुझाता… बल्कि उस भक्त को ही आशीर्वाद के रूप में लौट कर आ जाता है जिसके लिए संकल्प लिया गया है…In the same way this journey is aligned with the client’s karmic field and not the proxy’s.
In my experience, it’s amazing to see how consistently the stories, emotions and patterns that emerge match the client’s issues and not the proxy’s.
Of course, as a therapist I remain watchful, if at any point it feels like the proxy’s personal material is surfacing, I gently steer it back.
Pure intention matters the most…
[ As proxy session can be done for any adult also in special conditions (e.g., comatose client), what precautions we need to take to avoid any legal complication in future? ]…
A very wise concern…
A few essential steps may keep the process safe for everyone.
First and the most important is the written Consent from the client. And if they’re not in a state to give it (like in coma), get it from the closest family member or legal guardian.
Secondly, mark a clear note in your records that it is a proxy session, also who the proxy is.
Third important point is to avoid promises or medical claims…keep it as a therapeutic or a spiritually supported process.
Make sure the proxy is well informed (in the pre-induction talks )…a willing adult.
We as therapist must guard both client’s and proxy’s privacy with utmost care.
This will not only protect us legally but also reflect the integrity.
In my experience proxy regression is about love…it’s about holding space for someone who cannot hold it for themselves.
With the right intention, it works like an offering…like a prayer offered sincerely for another soul… as the energy reaches them and healing happens where it is needed the most.
