I just finished watching this movie and couldn’t stop myself from posting about it. Past life (2026) is a British Psychological thriller directed by Simeon Halligan. The movie is about a former war reporter Jason, who is struggling with PTSD after witnessing atrocities in a war zone. Despite of being a non believer, he decides to volunteer for a PLR session and during the past-life hypnosis, he doesn’t relive a peaceful previous existence. Instead, he experiences vivid memories THROUGH the EYES of a serial killer from the 1980s.

Believing these visions may contain real clues, Jason and the hypnotist begin investigating decades-old unsolved murders. The story blends psychological trauma, crime investigation, and leaving the audience questioning whether the visions are genuine past-life memories, manifestations of PTSD, or something else entirely. I felt the idea was stronger than the execution, it creates an eerie atmosphere but doesn’t fully deliver on its psychological depth or PLRt. But it was an interesting initiative.

Induction technique was rapid 10 seconds, I would die for that to master and undergo but I think for the dramatic effects they picked that to keep the audience engaged, otherwise movie would had been been hours long with 60-90 mins induction alone. Movie concept was good but the execution didn’t match the idea. They could have elaborated more on plrt but it was a good watch to know the difference between movie and real life plr experience. I took it as a fresh idea to explore and plrt is not alien to most of the people now, at least this is a well established concept now and people are more receptive and respectful towards it. It was 90 mins watch and kinda engaging but could have been way better. If you have nothing better to do than watch may be (at your own risk :wink:)

It’s a new movie so may be it will reach India in its own time :grinning_face: indian people are जुगाड़ू :smiley:
