Some moment feels like a memory thread, that has weaved my childhood mornings, my family’s rituals and the warmth of those moments, while still gently pointing to the scientific validation…
The First 7 Minutes After Waking…From Childhood Rituals to Neuroscience
When I think back to my childhood mornings, I don’t remember phones or alarms, what I remember is sound and scent.
The soft chanting of my grandmother… The quiet folding of my parents’ hands in प्रातः स्मरण… the faint fragrance of संभ्रानी filling the air… and sometimes, the distant echo of temple bells as the first light of dawn gently touched our windows.
That was how mornings began in my family, not with noise or hurry, but with remembrance. Not with stress, but with gratitude.
Infact no one sat me down to “teach” me the psychology of it. But as a child, I absorbed a deep truth without even realizing that the first few minutes after opening my eyes are sacred. What I think, what I feel, what I remember in that window quietly sets the rhythm of my entire day.
Back then, it was simply tradition. But today, at 57, when I read what neuroscience says, I smile. Because science is only confirming what our elders already knew.
Neuroscience now tells us that the first 7 minutes after waking are the most programmable part of the day. In that tender window, the brain lingers in alpha and theta frequencies…the same states we touch in deep meditation, hypnosis, trauma healing and centering prayer.
We are neither fully asleep, nor fully awake. We are standing at a neuroplastic meldable gateway, where the subconscious is wide open in a transitional phase where it is most programable.
During this crossover from delta → theta → alpha → beta:
• The restless chatter of the mind, the Default Mode Network (DMN) begins to quiet.
• The left and right hemispheres of the brain start moving in harmony, like two instruments tuning to the same melody.
• The Reticular Activating System (RAS) awakens, filtering reality based on our very first emotion.
So, when we –
- Wake in stress?
The RAS scans for threat.
- Wake in gratitude?
It scans for healing, synchronicity, and possibility.
Believe me this is not just philosophy,
this is Neurobiology. Measurable Quantum field mechanics.
For me, it feels like a déjà vu. Because I had already lived this truth through the morning प्रातः स्मरण I grew up with.
Years later, when I consciously returned to this practice as an adult, I began very simply before doing anything else, I place my hand on my heart and whisper
“thank you.”
I visualize something I deeply long for as though it is already real. And to my surprise, I feel the same warmth I used to feel as a child, listening to my grandmother’s voice drifting softly through the early morning air.
Actually we are not just a mind in a body, we are an electromagnetic signal in the unified field and our first thoughts are instructions.
“As a man/woman thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
When we combine a clear intention with an elevated emotional state we begin to broadcast a coherent electromagnetic signature. Our heart when tuned in gratitude, love or awe emits a field 5,000 times stronger than the brain’s.
This field can literally entrain all things.
As rightly said by Mark that if we believe we have recieved it, and it will be ours…
Christ spoke in Aramaic, the meaning is more precise
“Be surrounded by the state of it already occurring.”
So, the more I practice, the more I understand that I am not just a body waking up. I am an electromagnetic signal, sending out instructions to life itself.
This is the technology of inner knowing.
Not begging…Not hoping…Embodying.
Because the subconscious doesn’t respond to language.
It responds to emotions, frequency and repetition.
When our thoughts, heart rhythms and behavior align we create a state of physiological coherence.
That’s when
• Neuroplasticity takes root
• Synaptic pathways rewire
• Gene expression shifts
• The immune system modulates
• The quantum field listens
- And the world outside begins to mirror the coherence we cultivate within.
And believe me all this is measurable. Trainable. Repeatable.
It’s why monks rise before dawn.
Why mystics enter silence before sunrise.
Why elite performers rehearse the future until it’s encoded into their biology.
No wonder our elders practiced प्रातः स्मरण.
They weren’t just performing rituals…they were tuning their entire being.
Even now, at 57, my mornings carry that echo.
So here’s my morning protocol –
- I resist the urge to check my phone.
- I place my hand on my heart and breathe slowly.
- I feel gratitude sometimes for something as simple as another sunrise.
- I speak as if my future self is already here, with clarity and warmth.
- I visualize my desired reality as if it is already done.
• I let my body believe it before my eyes see it
Because when you feel it, your cells feel it.
When you repeat it, your nervous system memorizes it. When you align with it, the field responds.
Coherence is the signal.
Intention is the vector.
Emotion is the charge.
The first 7 minutes aren’t just a mental exercise…they are a biological tuning of your frequency to your desired future decided now.
So tune wisely.
Your nervous system is listening.
The quantum field is responding.
And Heaven is watching for the signal only you can send.
And this all takes less than seven minutes. But these seven minutes shape the next sixteen hours. And over time, they have shaped my life.
What I’ve learned is this—
- Coherence is the signal.
- Intention is the direction.
- Emotion is the power.
The first seven minutes are not ordinary. They are sacred. They are the reset button gifted to us each morning. They are Heaven’s invitation to send out the signal only we can give.
And so, every morning, I choose to tune wisely. Because my nervous system is listening. The quantum field is responding. And my future is already waiting.
What do you all remember about your childhood mornings?
Do you still carry any ritual, prayer or moment of silence from those years into your life today?
I would love to hear your reflections…
