History: -

Loki (Name changed) a senior manager in Puma, has received numerous awards, including the national award Rajini Champ. He grew up in Cochin and shares a good relationship with his mother and sister. However, his relationship with his father is more distant due to ideological differences, as his father spent much of his time abroad. Still, there is mutual love and affection between them.

His mother was a teacher and the Head of the Department at a government college. She was highly motivated and hardworking.

Academically, Loki’s school years were smooth sailing, and he rarely experienced failure until college. In engineering school, he struggled with subjects and even failed a couple of papers, but it wasn’t just his failure—he felt as if his mother had failed too, as she couldn’t bear to see her son struggle. Initially, he felt disheartened, but over time, he developed a strong ability to recover from setbacks. He often dreams of being unprepared for exams, which triggers anxiety.

Loki married his MBA girlfriend, but their relationship faced challenges, leading to a mutual separation. However, they remain good friends. Now, he enjoys a free, debt-free life and feels content.

Session -2

[The second session had ended with Happy memories, but since we had some extra time, we decided to go further back in time.]

[The client imagined a monk, named Rishi, around 40-50 years old, with grey hair and a beard. He was traveling from place to place, smiling, and focused on spreading happiness. The monk instructed Loki to enter his mother’s womb and support her, as she was a good human being but did not have a great marital life. He also encouraged him to bring joy to others, relax, and chill. Ultimately, he must find peace.]

Session 3: -

Dave Elman- Staircase -Garden – Progressive Relaxation- Reframing – doorway- Tunnel – Pool surrounded with Golden Flowers

[The client arrived two hours late for the session and appeared less engaged than on the first day, however, we remained dedicated to the process and did our best to retrieve the memories. While he was unable to fully witness his past life, there was a profound lesson hidden within.]

T- What is coming to your awareness?

C- What I think is that this fear of failure is basically coming from my mother’s fear of failure. She gets tense quickly; she worries quite a bit. So, I am getting that from her rather than any particular instance in which I have gone through. I think from a core angle, it’s more genetic. My mother has told me, she was the eldest daughter and since it was a combined family, she was put under a lot of expectations and then probably regarding exams or with learning different things, she was pressured to a lot of expectations. So, I think from there came the fear of failure and then as she grew older, she had two siblings as well and then they were also good at certain things and then there was a bit of competition over there as well and the fear just built up over the period.

Even my maternal uncle, I and my mom are similar regarding characteristics. All of us just have that a little bit of unnecessary worry that is there regarding performance and failure, so, that’s more of an upbringing kind of a fear that’s come up that stayed with me.

T- So, what is it that you must do to get rid of this fear?

C- I think just being conscious of what is controllable and what really impacts in the long term and just being true to your values and what you want to do in life. If, what I am worrying about is not under my control, then there is no need to worry about it and if it is something where I can put my efforts and try to give my best, I should be fine with that and not worry too much, because most of the things I am worrying about is not going to have a long-term effect. They are all mostly temporary things. So, if I take care of the long-term things that matter, I don’t think I should be worrying about anything.

[I was trying to delve into the fear of failure and anxiety, ensuring that no traces of it remained in either his past or present life. However, the client declined and requested closure.]

T- Let’s try once more… When you experience a fear of failure, you feel anxious in that moment. What would you like to feel instead?

C- I would like to be in peace… Peacefully analyzing both the issues and what is the controllable around it.

T- What would it take for you to truly enjoy a peaceful life?

C- Just being aware of what the controllables are and just being joyful in life and not taking things seriously.

T- Let yourself scan your body and let me know what is this fear and anxiety trying to say? If it could communicate, what would it express?

C- I guess it is saying that you are going to fail, you are going to have a very negative consequence. You are going to be doomed and so just very negative outcomes, which is not comfortable.

T- If this fear had a shape, how the shape would be?

C- Probably a red square box or red rectangle.

T- How this red square box is related to this fear?

C- This red square box has inside a lot of negative outcomes and that’s just to create fear in me. I think this is just a negative outcomes or negative experiences or feelings that is there and that’s rubbing off on me.

[The client asked to wrap up the session again]

T- Right now, I’d prefer not to conclude. If you’re okay with it, we can take a break and give it another try after lunch. What do you think?

C- Well, I am not able to go beyond to anything specific because when I am just trying to understand where this is coming from, I think this is coming from my mother, because I kind of imbibe or take in a lot of behaviors and characteristics from her. So having been brought up and been together all these years and being constantly in touch, I have just absorbed that characteristic of being scared at things initially and then probably I’m training myself to understand what the scenario is and then looking at the controllables and then taking a decision. So, it’s coming from there. I don’t think there is anything beyond it that is affecting my sense. I just need to train myself, which I’ve been doing. So, which I think even now when I’m at work also, I’m training myself, so I’m not getting stressed that easily. I’m able to be cool and I can see that in my interactions with my colleagues, I’m feeling a lot cooler than I used to be. I think that’s also come with experience and understanding that this fear is not very important and can be handled much better. So, I’ve reached there. I think I understand where this is kind of coming from.

Still, if there is a particular challenge that comes up, if there is a particular higher, if somebody says something angrily at a higher volume, it is still that fear that comes up initially which I think it’s pretty normal. So, but then I kind of feel, I am reaching that stage in which I’ve been able to train myself better to understand what is relevant and what are the controllables and understanding that it’s a joy and what is important in the long term. So, I think I started to train myself better on it and yeah, I’m in a better position right now.

T- Now, take a moment to reflect again and feel the fear of failure. Is it as intense as before?

C- The intensity is reduced. I can kind of understand ki these are not so critical to have a fear. I’m not feeling much anything now, but then I think when we went back a couple of times already, it’s the third time I’m going back, I’m like, I don’t recognize this fear.

T- Let yourself experience the anxiety… When you enter the fear of failure mode, you feel anxious. Are you feeling that anxiety now?

C- No, I think my mind is just trained with a kind of sensing that you don’t have to get anxious. Just feeling what was there to get anxious about. It’s more of a peaceful questioning rather than being fearful.

T- If you find yourself in a situation where again you fear failure or anxiety, how would you manage it?

C- I’ll just be at peace, evaluate what are the controllable and what are the things that can happen and if it is actually something to be actioned on, then I will action on it, otherwise, I’ll ignore it.

I think one thing what is recollecting, is that there was this, my grandmom had an elder brother who was very much into sports, and he was very good in football, and he used to play a lot. He used to win a lot of championships, but the family was very poor and that was not adding value, and I think he was constantly rebuked because he was not studying, instead he was playing, and he had died because of some injury, and he did not get the treatment and I have been told that probably I resemble him in some way, and I am not sure if there is something to do with him and I am sure he was also probably under a lot of stress with regard to supporting the family. However, he had something else that he wanted to do in life and that is the only thing that is probably coming to me apart from understanding that this is fundamentally through my family genes that this characteristic is coming through. I think that’s my kind of sense that he had that same excitement in playing sports and stuff but then he also had that pressure of what the family was going through, and he had to support them instead. So, his passion, he was not able to follow his passion at that point in time.

T- How are you associated with this thing?

C- I also have that same thing, certain things that I wanted to do, I have not been able to do because of this fear of doing something outside the ordinary or doing something which is not what people usually do and not putting all energies into the passion. So, I think I am able to relate to that aspect.

T- So, now that you have the example of your uncle in front of you, how would you like to lead your life going forward?

C- I would just like to lead it the way I want with my instinct. Even if I make mistakes, it’s my mistake, I think I could just learn from it rather than being scared of what could happen and not live. So, I should take life as an adventure, definitely make a very conscious decision. When it comes to what is the short term, long term, what is the way back, in case things don’t go as planned, I can make conscious decisions which at the end of the day I would probably look back and say, hey, you did something out of your gut and you at least tried, and I am sure when I do things with my gut, I think a lot of energy goes into that and that should ideally yield joy, which is what I think every person is trying to find in their life. So, I think that’s the most important thing rather than anything else. Then that can keep me happy.

T- How are you feeling right now?

C- Better

[As per the client request, Helped the client to come back out of the trance]

Session:4

Integration: -

Although the client was unable to access his past life, he was wise enough to realize that his fears and anxieties were self-created rather than linked to past life experiences. He understood that his fear was influenced by his current circumstances and the people around him, particularly his family. This awareness led him to a profound understanding: true control lies within, not in the external world. The client now believes that addressing this fear requires self-work. This insight has empowered him to take steps toward personal growth and inner peace.:pray:
