Unemployed for 6 Years • Dependent on Psychiatric Medication & Alcohol • Finally Free from Crippling Fear and Back at Work With 15-Stage PLRT

I have done this case in Malayalam, here is the Translated version. For me this case is more challenging one because the client is under Psychiatric Treatment. I am showing my deepest Gratitude towards God, Masters, to our beloved Guru Dr.Venu & to the forum for making this happen.

Case History

25 year old Anandan is under psychiatric treatment for fears since 2020. All started once he was walking home after playing cricket, suddenly froze, losing track of where he was & felt falling into a deep pit & died. As he was very close to his house, but he stood there for a long time then his memory slowly returned. With great struggle, he reached home and lay down. When tried to sleep, he felt like he was falling into a deep pit and woke up with panic attack. Thinking it was COVID-19 influence, he went to the hospital, but the result was negative. They gave him injections for dizziness and sleep. Since that day onwards he lived in constant Fear, Fear of bridge, Fear of public space, Fear to going out, Fear of crowd, Fear of peoples, Fear of depth, Fear of height, Fear of natural calamities, Fear of loneliness, Fear of death, Fear of forest, Fear of collapsing etc. When ever he tries to do any one of this he started shivering the entire body especially leg, hands become cold & sweaty, vertigo, breathing difficulty and an overwhelming fear of death.

Then he started using alcohol to cope with this fear, but now, if he don’t drink, these symptoms become extreme the next day. He consulted many doctors and was prescribed powerful psychiatric medications, for Multiple Personality Disorder & Bipolar Spectrum disorders. While the medicines help me to reduce my anxiety, but they have severe side effects, and if he miss even one dose, the issues return with extreme intensity. His condition worsens as evening approaches. He withdraws from everyone, and at night, he constantly wake up feeling like he is falling into a void. Now, he cannot face anyone without alcohol and he is terrified of going out alone.

Pain level (after session): 4/10

Review after 1 week: Good morning madam, A lot of changes have happened after the session. Mainly, I am now able to control myself during panic attacks and I have been trying to face the things I am afraid of. Only my sleep is not yet back to normal; everything else is a positive change. Thanks a lot.

Review after 1 Month: After 6 years of unemployment, currently he has moved abroad for work with his father and has completely stopped taking his Psychiatric medications. While a few challenges remain, they are manageable.

@preethaprabhakar66 very interesting and challenging case. I feel for your client, he went through a lot. You were brave to take the risk of dealing with such client. But you managed very well. You held a very productive session. You managed the session with apt suggestion about breathing and stress management, I also like the suggestion you gave to carry lord Shiva with him for cliff reframing, that was nicely improvised and executed. Bonus point again for doing it in your native language :+1: his pain levels came down and his lifestyle and psychological issues are improving. Excellent!!

Sad part of psychiatric medications.

@preethaprabhakar66 what precautions did you execute prior to considering this client for PLRT session?

Could it be Kinesthetic?

Is there a possibility of having used any other visualization to avoid the cliff?

This is a very considerate empathetic thought

Good thought and presence of mind

In my opinion endogenic responses could have been elicited instead of direct suggestions

In my understanding, this is to be done in 3rd session

Empathizing with the client could have been considered here

@preethaprabhakar66 Amazing outcome and very well conducted session.
It was an engaging presentation

First of all thankyou for your valuable suggestions Sarandha ji… @sarandha The precautions I took were, Under this special circumstances I had done the first two sessions, with the presence of his wife to make him feel comfortable, due to forseen chances for panic attacks during session and advised to keep the Psychiatric medicines with him as an emergency option. At the start of the session I had done Pranic healing to keep his mind calm. I had done the entire session slowly considering him as Kinaesthetic client but the Amarantos Acessment suggest his Dominant sense is Auditory, that is why i wrote the same way. The emotional discharge on the cliff was just a try with constantly monitoring his facial expressions and eye movements here by the Gods grace he had done that very confidently with the presence of Lord shiva (as he is strong devotee of Lord Shiva). Before the Emotional Discharge he was afraid to move forward, but after this he is literally relieved & becomes Calm (can be seen in his facial expressions), & more confident for further journey. So from the 3rd session onwards I keep his wife out side & everything went well without any panic attacks… :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::folded_hands:t2:

Very nice dr.preetha…it is wonderful phase,

Yes dr.preetha…taking up the clients who are under psychiatry conditions…is really challenging

Thankyou dear Gayathri… @gayathripadiyar7 Lots of love…:heart::folded_hands:t2:

phenomenal my blessed Dr. @preethaprabhakar66
this is what 15-Stage PLRT is about, a right tool in the hands of a capable therapist!

Further to what Dr. @sarandha has shared,

Kudos to you! Offering PLR sessions in local languages is one of the main reasons I started offering these trainings…

First of all, it’s daunting you took up such a challenging case. Clients who are already under psychiatric care require tremendous responsibility, patience and confidence from the therapist. The outcome achieved here is truly heartening, especially seeing Anandan gradually

  • regain control over his life,
  • and return to employment after six years!

Such transformations remind us why the Masters have entrusted this beautiful science to us.

Anandan, presented with a complex history of debilitating fears and panic attacks that had persisted for nearly six years indicates he might have lost his job because of this emotion that got triggered.

just emotions are age triggered because there is no etiological reason..?

Good identification of the trigger,

following which he developed an overwhelming fear of depth, heights, crowds, bridges, open spaces, forests, loneliness, death and several other situations. (see all these emerged in his PLs) Its noteworthy that his distress was so intense that he depended on alcohol and psychiatric medications simply to function or even face people.

One important thing, you’ve taken a big risk. but in a professional setting when you come to know that the client is under Psychiatric medication, do ask the client to seek permission from their physicians to undergo a hypnotherapy session. And never give any advice regarding medication

With his situation we can imagine the pain 10/10!

As Dr. Saru pointed out, try to identify the effective Dominant sense or representational system was “V- 5/ A- 6/ K- 4” and not what the system says! Remember when K is 3 or more, what takes precedence? And see how the Unconscious actually was expressing in those lines and you have also got it,

  • falling
  • warmth
  • can’t move
  • scared
  • alone
  • blood
  • body sensations

Trust your experience, use the HM for confirmation on their dominant sense going forward. The system provided score is only a starter.

Hope EMDR was also administered, as you do not need a support figure during this. We disturbed Lord Shiva unnecessarily

The therapeutic journey progressed gradually over three sessions, beginning with stress management and emotional stabilisation before proceeding into regression. The client revisited a previous lifetime involving
PL1 - bomb blasts,
PL2 separation, loneliness (?)
PL3 fatal accident in a valley,
ultimately identifying the emotional CO into the present life.

Following your dexterous emotional processing and appropriate post-session integration, Anandan has demonstrated significant improvement. At one month, he had resumed work abroad! and described the remaining challenges as manageable, reflecting a remarkable reduction in symptom severity!

What impressed me the most was that you never rushed into regression (you let it all unfold in 4 full fledge sessions!. Instead, you first ensured emotional stability through stress management, breathing, IMR coaching and gradual deepening. In clients presenting with panic disorder and multiple fears, creating psychological safety is often more important than quickly reaching a past life.

Your patience throughout the session is evident.

Excellent Clinical Judgement!

Avoiding staircases and bridges was a thoughtful decision. I particularly appreciated how you avoided visualising 'em considering his presenting fears. That demonstrates excellent calibration to the client’s current emotional state.

A points for your kind consideration

1. Dominant Theme

Although the case lists

Fear of Depth

and

Fear in General

I wonder whether these are actually presenting symptoms rather than the deeper therapeutic theme.

As I read the regression, what repeatedly surfaced was, fear due to loneliness. Remember, the subconscious usually stores one dominant emotional conflict while the conscious mind presents many symptoms. We could have used Pain Levels against each one of the contending themes to arrive at one.

2. More Anchoring please

One beautiful moment occurred here:

“Searching for mother… searching for Anna… I can’t see anybody… I am crying… I am so alone… I am scared.”

This is such a powerful therapeutic doorway. This is what was tormenting him from then to now… The eye of the storm! Rather than moving on quickly, I would probably remain here longer. Anchored the client’s conciseness to this feeling and let it unravel. use SMT, followed by
(see this post for the full form of acronyms used Clinical Abbreviations & Session Notation For The 15-Stage PLRT Protocol )

Using statements such as

“Allow yourself to completely experience that loneliness…”

“Where in your body do you notice that feeling?”

Very often, remaining with the emotion allows the DHI/SCM to naturally guide the next step without the therapist needing to search for another event.

  1. Explore the CO More Explicitly

Towards the end, I would have liked to hear questions connecting the PLT to the present one.

For example,

“How has this experience influenced Anandan’s present life?”

“What belief did he carry forward?”

“What no longer needs to be carried?”

4. Do be more observant of the following in the next sessions.

  • eye movement, even when closed you can see them moving from side to side or fluttering
  • changes in body sensations
  • changes in breathing
  • emotional shift
  • client’s new belief after the resolution

as during this time

5. EPE, and SMT please

I was throughly enjoying your session until I read this

Like Dr. @sarandha pointed out, here is the difference between Hypnotherapy and PLRT, what do you think you could have done differently in the context of PLRT here? Do write in the comments below

splendid!

Excellent KMF2C! Just that we could’ve spent more time near the Engram and then turned to CF pattern. Because as of now it look like a distraction which is the last resort to stabilise.

Presupposition would have been much more effective here, we could have asked “How old could you be, KANNAN” (to promote I of IDT)

instead of “take 6 deep breaths” use SMT we’ve already established, as that feels quite superficial.

splendid!

wow! I can imagine how much of an effort you must have put and also given your health condition and the physical exertion you might have gone through.

The most satisfying part of this case is seeing the client reclaim his life.

After years of psychiatric illness, panic attacks, alcohol dependence and unemployment, he is now able to travel abroad for work, face situations that once terrified him and reports significant improvement. Changing one life impacts 22! And I sincerely thank you for reaching out to him and brining about this.

Congratulations once again, Dr. Preetha. Thank you for presenting this beautiful and challenging case. May the Masters continue to guide you in transforming many more lives. :folded_hands:

PS:
It took me more than 2.5 hours to review this case… and hence the delay @preethaprabhakar66
I hope you understand

### Unemployed for 6 Years • Dependent on Psychiatric Medication & Alcohol • Finally Free from Crippling Fear And Back to Work Abroad Now

For six years, fear ruled every moment of Anandan’s life. What began as one terrifying episode while walking home soon grew into a constant battle with panic, overwhelming fears, sleepless nights and complete dependence on psychiatric medication. Even stepping outside, crossing a bridge or facing a crowd felt impossible. Alcohol became his only way of coping, yet it brought its own struggles.

Despite years of treatment, the fear refused to let go.

As his journey unfolded, unexpected memories and deeply emotional experiences began to surface—offering a new perspective on fears that had controlled him for years. Slowly, something remarkable started to change.

The panic no longer held the same power. Confidence quietly returned. Small victories became larger ones. Even those closest to him noticed a person they had not seen in years.

Today, after six years of unemployment, he has returned to work, moved abroad with his father, and has stopped his psychiatric medication under his own documented course of recovery, while continuing to manage a few remaining challenges.

What unfolded during those sessions, and how did a life dominated by fear begin to open again? Continue reading to discover the complete 15-Stage PLRT® journey.
