Everyone is so busy wanting to be happy but mostly serious hence letâs have some fun
Letâs hear a story today
Krishna, Arjuna, and Satyaki were travelling through a forest. Night fell, so they decided to rest.
Since the forest was dangerous, they agreed to keep watch in turns.
As Satyaki stood guard, a terrifying demon appeared.
The demon challenged him to fight.
Satyaki became angry and attacked. The more fiercely he fought, the larger and stronger the demon became.
Satyaki became exhausted and bruised. Eventually the demon disappeared when his watch ended.
Arjuna now took over.
The same demon appeared.
Arjuna, the greatest archer, became furious and fought with all his might.
But something strange happened.
Every time Arjuna became more angry, the demon became more powerful.
The battle continued until Arjuna was badly beaten and completely exhausted.
Then the demon vanished.
3rd Watch..
Finally it was Sri Krishnaâs turn.
The same demon appeared.
Instead of becoming angryâŚ
Krishna smiled.
The demon insulted Him.
Krishna laughed.
The demon threatened Him.
Krishna smiled even more.
With every smileâŚ
the demon became smaller.
It shrankâŚ
and shrankâŚ
until it became no larger than an insect.
Bhagvan calmly picked it up, tied it into a corner of His cloth, and waited for morning.
When Arjuna and Satyaki awoke, they described the terrifying demon that had nearly defeated them.
Krishna untied the tiny creature from His cloth and said:
âThis is the same demon.â
They were astonished. The Compassionate one explained,
âThis demon lives on anger. Every moment you became angry, you fed it. I gave it nothing to feed upon. Therefore it withered away.â
Reacting with anger strengthens Maya of Anger, hence Edgar Cayce gave so much of importance to a great âSense of Honourâ
âCultivate the ability to see the ridiculous, and to retain the ability to laugh. For know only in those that God hath favored is there the ability to laugh, even when clouds of doubt arise, or when every form of disturbance arises.â

I still remember the profound impact the following words had on me when I first read it two decades ago
âIf ye lose the ability to laugh, ye lose that ability to be joyous. And the religion, the principle of the Christ-life is joyous! For remember He laughed⌠even at those that tormented Him.â
