I realize that the client needs closure. She has tried to communicate with her lost love through mediums. But here, in her dissociation stage, there is an opportunity for her get that closure by communicating with Karan at a soul-to-soul level. I decide to take that opportunity]

This case made me reflect on how “extra body weight” may sometimes carry an emotional meaning beyond the physical symptom. What stayed with me was the movement from grief and helplessness toward letting go.

The line “Love is not ownership”, followed by “Let go—grief, pain and all burden,” felt like the emotional centre of the session.

I found the progression especially interesting. Initially, the client could not imagine loving anyone else, yet in progression she experienced a future where she had love, family and felt free of the extra weight.

For me, the deeper PLRT learning is:

Loss → Grief → Attachment → Burden → Letting Go → New Possibility.

I would personally hold the connection between emotional burden and physical weight as a meaningful therapeutic metaphor, rather than a proven causal explanation.

Perhaps the most beautiful insight is that the regression did not simply explore why the weight was there, but what the weight might have been representing for the client.

A very moving case, with a powerful message about grief, release and giving love another chance.

4. The client said herself that she may have subconsciously put on weight to become unattractive to potential partners, so that she could remain loyal to Karan.
